In the plant, the Fisher Body spec was to place the cut-and-trimmed joint centered on the latch; we used a small bead of pumpable black sealer/adhesive applied from a flow gun all the way around the gutter before rolling the seal into place, and used the same sealer to glue the cut ends together at the joint.
