Talk about a sleeper ![]() [/ QUOTE ] 5481 total L79 Chevy II's were built in the U.S. in 1966. 3547 were Super Sports, approx. 200 two door sedans, and a few wagons. Leaves just under 1800 Sport Coupes like this beauty. There were 195 L79 Chevy II's built in Canada, of which approx 90-100 were SS's. They were also 63 Acadian L79s built by GM Canada. Bob

John,
Great info...Thanks. Yes... Jody`s car is eqiupped with the F40 HD Suspension...I read it myself on the Bill of Sale. So this would make 4 options....4 speed tranny, F40 HD suspension , tinted front windshield and push button radio. Dan.

Missed the big option that makes it what it is. The L79 engine was a 198.00 option. The 4 speed added another $184.00. These were big dollar options for a Chevy II in 1966, especially when you consider the low cost of other extras...like upgrading to the F40 HD suspension for $4.95!! Now, from the really anal Chevy II L79 department, the air cleaner lid should be rotated 180 degrees. If you check the indentations on the top, you'll find there isn't one over one of the snorkels (some of the repop makers didn't notice this and put them all the way around). This side of the lid should face the drivers side. Don't ask me why there is an indentation missing or who decided which side it should face, because I don't know. I think an original 1966 factory photo showed it this way, so that must be correct, right? Lots of guys just put the best looking side of the lid to the front, which is just fine, too. Bob
