Stock like SS is kinda getting out of hand. It is all about people wanting to see 9 second runs in my opinion. Maybe they should go back to running on their national record instead of the index. Then you won't see cars running 1.170 seconds under. I believe NHRA added 10 horsepower to the 427 which in turn more weight had to be added to run the aluminum head. I think that is what was done. The 396/375, 4 speed cars seem to be the lick for A/Stick. The novas are jumping in there also. A little less weight and they are running A/SA or A/S with the 396.
