Tri-power '66 442 in Autumn Bronze. This color changes with the little hand on the clock - way !!! By the way this is one of Don Breen's restorations and is currently owned by Big Bill.....

I know I have shown this car before, but I spent some more time with the owner, Ric (retired police LT) and he filled me in on the extensive research he has done with this Hertz Shelby. He has owned this car for 22 years. This is a local car and was rented at the Sky Harbor Airport back in '66. He tracked down the Hertz employee that remembers this car. The rules of the day required a "fam" flight for each customer to familiarize them with the capabilities of these potent pony cars. Well one day a fellow came in to rent this car and the Hertz employee recognized the new customer. It was Dan Gurney. THe Hertz employee was still gonna conduct the fam flight but with a twist. He threw the keys to Mr. Gurney who then showed the employee how a '66 Shelby should be properly flogged. Car has been in a number of older mags over the years, and more recently Ford has used it extensively in ads to promote the modern Hertz Mustang. Anyway this car is just a gem and Ric is a cool dude to boot.....
