President was told during a news conference last week that gas was averaging $3.29 nationwide (I think--somewhere in there) and he looked genuinely surprised and a little flummoxed. Granted, elites (Bushes and Kennedys alike) have no idea what the rest of us have to deal with in our daily lives but you would think that the oil guys we elected in 2000 and 2004 would have an idea what is going on in the industry and the daily lives of Americans.
Halliburton is doing well. Oil industry profits are skyrocketing. Dare I say "mission accomplished." $4 a gallon is going to look GREAT a year from now. Oh well, out to the garage! The wrenches, rags and cold floor are waiting!
