That will make a REALLY COOL LOOKING HOTROD! If you were not so far from me I would be glad to take it off your hands!I have "KILLER 340 STROKER" that would get it moving easily. If it has the 318 engine it is the POLY as they call it and you can do some neat tricks to them! and there are some pretty neat intakes availiable from time to time. I happened to see an intake not long ago for one and it was SIX DUECES which certainly would look COOL under the hood.

I know a lot about 57 plymounths Its not a 318 if it is a v8 its a 272 or a 301 I had one and droped in a 1960 413 and that thing was fast as hell But the stock brakes must be upgraded the stock ones sucked and was bad to stop this beast with a big motor If I were you I would frist upgrade the brakes to disk system then drop in a 413 It will fit right in a belive me it will be fast had this back in 68 and never had a 383 road runner beat me many tried

More infor on 57 plymouths the plaza and the savoy models v8s all were 272s the belvederes came with 301s the fury came with the 350 witch later became the 361 the 350and the 361 look the same as the 383 the 272 and the 301 looked the same as the 318 also 57 was the frist year for the 3 speed torquflite they also came with a 2 speed powerflite
mine was a belvedere and had the 301 with the torquflite
it was given to me because it had a rod knock
I picked up a 413 out of a 1960 imperial
I used motor mounts from a 1959 Dodge that came with a 361
the frame from the 57 plymouth and the 59 dodge were the same so the mount worked great I got dule exhast from a 59 dodge 383 every thing bloted right up with out no problems
the beast was fast in the day but the stock factory brakes could just not handle 100 mph+ stops
Still had a lot of fun with it as this was my first car and it did put a lot of muscel cars back in 68 to shame man the looks I got when I blew off a 383 road runners was pricless
Today the only thing I would change would be the brakes then you would have a good runner
love to build one today the same way that 413 was a good motor and a great match for a clean 57 plymouth and will fit right in with out much of a hassle

I had a older fella call me 2 nights ago. He is trying to figure out value of a 57 Plymouth 4 door 6 cyl car wth 22K miles that has not been started in 40 years. It was given to him by a relative that bought it new and parked it in the garage. He says the engine can be rotated by hand so he knows it is not seized up. I will look at it this weekend. Any guesses on value ?
