Anyone ever see a factory 3 speed floor shift lever for a 67 SS396 Chevelle with bench? It appears to be the same as the 4 speed less the lockout "T" handle under the knob (assy manual shows it). I'm guessing knob is white with 3 speed pattern. My Warner HD 3 speed had what I thought was the factory lever: 4 speed style (with lockout handle) with chrome knob - must have been changed? Need the non lockout lever.... Dave [/ QUOTE ] Hi Dave: Boy you don't look for the easy to find stuff my friend. I had a buddy in high school with a factory 3 spd floor bench in a 66 chevelle which is probally the same as a 67. I did drive this car a few times and worked on it with him. I seem to remember the handle looking just like this early 64/65 mustang one with the two stud mount on the bottom and a real large threaded white knob which he could never get a hurst to fit on.My guess is the knob thread was the same as the 4spd shifter. I cannot remember a pattern on the knob however.I see him still occasionally so will ask the next time we meet. I know the motor is still in his Dad's barn since I did some snowblower work for him last fall at his place and he was complaining about it being in the way for 20 years. I never seen a trans however. Does your picture look anything like this mustang one. That is close to what I recall. take care Joe ![]() |
