Hello to all, Does anyone know what the correct part numbers are for the front and rear shocks used on the 1969 Trans Ams? I would imagine they would have been the heavy duty version like an F 41 or? Any help or referrals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Vic ![]() |

Vic, according the 69 Firebird Assembly manual, the 1969 Y96 Firm Ride and Handling option used:
Front - 9789636 Rear - 3192923 ...but the 1972 Pontiac Parts Index manual shows: Front - 5353144 Rear - 3182147 I'm assuming the original 1969 part numbers were superceded by 1972. By the way, the 67-69 Firebirds were also available with adjustable Koni shocks . Very rare option, but I have seen a few PHS invoices with the Koni shock option on Sprint 6 cars, Firebird 400's, and 69 Trans Am's.
