This guy e-mailed me twice more. I started out one of my responses with the question of what color was the sky in his world. But I thought about it, then changed my mind and just thanked him for his observations. This could have been me 25 years ago if somebody told me that GM installed 427 motors in a 1969 Camaro because I never saw one in California.

I especially liked the self professed 'expert' that felt the need to share his knowledge with you via the q&a feature on ebay!

""saw auction.when you cloned this car did you get the right crossmember.hard to fine. most people dont know the difference between a 350 and 396 cross member.80000 miles means the original engine was gone 30 years ago.im a expert on the 69 396 /375 car and the 66 327/350 chevy11 questions and answers tony""

Boy he really stepped out there didn't he.... So if your an expert on the 69 don't you also have to be an expert on the 68 and the 70 ... Super nice Nova, best of luck with the sale .

Great car Mark...always nice to know of more Canadian L78 cars!.

Too bad you couldn't keep it...hope it's found the right home!

Funny but Googling your new friend Tony's number reveals nothing of his car expertise...it's a Texas Tattoo shop!.

And did you keep the stinger hood you had on the white '69 'Camaro...didn't you take it off before selling the car?.

~ Pete

Look a bit closer - you can see the outline for the original hole for a shifter hump car. There's a piece of aluminum riveted where they had chopped out the hump for whatever reason.

Thanks to A.Cardo - that whole area is now spot on factory correct! I used the original holes at the front of the tunnel for the console bracket to locate the console, which located the hump.... Weld it!

I could see the outline. It was the "add on" that is pretty much the norm with old novas. Some of the holes I've see I think you could pass a kid the size of Benjamin through.
That Cardo guy has a lot of good stuff. I think I've gotten a few things from him too.

Pete, the stinger hood ended up in Arizona. I was afraid that the kids would ruin it with their bikes in the garage. I already had one of them get his bike caught between the wife's truck and the wall He just kept pulling it till he got it loose. He scratched the truck about 2 feet along the middle of the side. The Nova looks to be sold, I talked to the buyer last night and I am waiting for the deposit. I think I am in denial but it is worth the piece in the house. I will be looking for a SS350 Nova or Camaro because I can not afford a big block anymore. Hey Bruce I have only met Mr Wilson once in 2.5 years. He seems to be a very busy man.
