Mike,

I see from your Corvette Order Copy sheet that you have a fairly early car. Unfortunately, your sheet is the same format as '68 thru '70 which doesn't include the partial VIN derivative. Later '71 Corvette Order Copy sheets can prove that the sheet is indeed the one for that particular car. The document could be for another car, there's just no way to prove it, one way or the other.
I would look closely at the trim tag and see if it appears to have been changed.

Do the hand written numbers on the build sheets sometimes match up w/ a job number that appeared on parts of the chassis or tub that showed as the car moved down the line but may be hidden now by interior or body parts?.

Best of luck w/ the car!.

I agree, the Order Copy sheet might be from another car...I'll try and post a pic of the trim tag. Funny thing, the car is built exactly like the OC sheet except for the interior color.

Thanks,

Mike

Are last three numbers on vin 337 or 837? Mostly that will hold true. Also, I have seen some tank sheets with changes. I have seen early '69 cars where car was built with no side pipes when they were ordered as such and also tire changes presumably to keep the assembly line moving.

My tank sheet has a 498 on it and the last three of the VIN is 998. I can see how a 4 and a 9 can get mixed up. I also have a pic of another tank sheet and the three numbers on it do match the last three of the VIN for the car it was removed from. Has anyone documented a tank sheet that has non matching numbers written on it?

No mix up, that is correct for your car.
