Dans right I had a green wing car back around 1986. I was at a party and heard someone talking how there was a Superbird sitting unincorrporated Melrose Park in a guys backyard and had been there for years. That was only five minutes away from wher I lived. The next morning I got up early and went looking for this Superbird, I drove around for hours and couldnt find it. I drove around one last time and finally seen a couple of 4X8 sheets of plywood laying up against a car I got out and there it was. It was pretty disappointing no doors, no wing, intake and carb missing. The car was pretty rotted from sitting there so long.
I go and ring his door bell and he answers and I asked if it was for sale he said he bought it brand new and wasnt selling it. I was curious and asked him what happened to it and he said he used to live behind East Leyden High school and when he went on vacation one year the high school kids stripped the car and he never fixed it.
About six months later I get a call from the guy and said he wanted to buy a new Mustang and wanted to sell it we came up with a price and I dug it out of the mud and brought it home.
I went back to the area the car was stripped at and started asking around if anybody knew anything about what happened to the parts. I really was interested in getting the wing back this one guy said he knew who took the stuff and told me where he lived. He said he had put the doors on a I think it was a GTX and sold the car but the guy who bought the GTX was stripping it for parts. I went to the guys house and the doors were there I even brought the key with me and it locked and unlocked the doors so I bought the doors. The wing was long gone but even back then I found one and had to pay 1800.00 for it. The doors didnt have a spot of rust on them that bird was really a rust free car before being stripped. By the time I sat down and fiqured what it would cost to fix it wasnt worth it so I put it in Hemmings and sold it for a pretty good profit. I hear the car went to Arizona and was restored 2 years ago in a body shop back in Brookfield Il only about 10 miles away from where I found it.

another car that found its way back was the douglass Yenko. The Douglass Yenko was delivered to Jack Douglass chevrolet in Hinsdale Il. It is believed that it was dealer traded to Rowe Chevrolet in Fort Collins Co. The first record of where the car was is in 1973 in Englewood Co. just outside denver from there it went to Nebraska then to Kansas then Wisconsin and then back to within 10 miles from Jack Douglass Chevrolet in IL. now its back to just about were it started again.

What's under the hood of that Winchester Grey Metallic 71 Cuda? That was a very rare color for '71.

John...let him win. He`s going to go a little crazy if he happens to hear about losing another race...to either one of us.

Hmmm....Darren, Duster vs 1970 L78?
