It is probably more likely that some previous owner put a big block heater core and cover on it than it was a "human error" at the factory

Changed the core in the 70`s ?? I dont think so, but thats my 2cent.

I would like to see the clips holding the core in the housing, that would tell the story.

Hey Kurt, isn't there a documented X-11 Z-28 out there??? I thought I read that somewhere on the CRG or Team Camaro site???
