Jed, look at Jim Sheas link here. Once you open the document scroll all the way down. Thats a picture of the flashing that you need to break away. http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/wp-co...dr_104de07.doc

Thanks for the info, but my computer will not let me open the pictures for some reason. LOL. At least this was a bit more informative then the Haynes Manual.

Oh thank you very much! I had no idea what to look for. As soon as I read break something, I was like ummm no I am not breaking anything. Took me a little while to find an original column for floor shift. Didn't want to break anything. But if this is what I have to do to change cylinders and paint, then it's a small piece to break.
