Joe, did you ever get a good picture of the ad you mention from the yenko dealership on the 6 cars? You sent me a picture a while back taken from a camera and it was hard to read when you blow it up.
Id sure like to have a better picture if its available? Considering the timing of the cars in the ad, we assumed my Rallye Green car is the one mentioned as its a late 68 car like Toms. I have also discussed with all the owners on my car (all PA guys) and the orig owner confirmed that my car was bought new from Yenko Chevy.

One more item, my protecto plate documents these came in with the MV motor as well. What im not sure of is - when the car was converted, was the protecto plate change to indicate the 427 motor? Does anyone have a copy of a 68 yenko protecto plate?

Apparently Kevin Suydam has documents pertaining to the smog certification of the 68 427 cars. Has anyone seen or does anyone have copies of the certs?

[/ QUOTE ] Didn't that certification actually list the MV coded motor, and not the 427 conversion? I think that discussion was trying to determine if the MV motor was a factory installed 427 but it appears to be the COPO 396/375 motor.

I still go back to the 59-64 Chevrolet tags...In the CBTN book it states that this tag was also used till 66 in Chevrolets produced in a BOP plant..( I'm not sure what that means exactly...but I think it is relevent) These bodys were marked for a reason. How many orders did Don make in 68? I'm thinking a batch order again. Why would Fisher need this tag? The 140 speedo? Wrong. They didn't install it, Chevrolet did. So, Don orders the cars...body numbers assigned at Fisher..sent thru to Chevrolet..They have to assemble the 140 speedo in a sea of 120's.....along with the 9737 stuff. This batch was run and tagged together to identify a "difference"...Has anyone seen a 68 Yenko Broadcast sheet? Was the tag used to identify the necessary items needed by Chevrolet? The ACC on the tag leads me to belive it. They used some form of it on the 67 tags for accessory codes. Why not use it again for variations on the 68 stuff? Hence the Magic Mirror tag with ACC.. Does anyone have body numbers for the 68 Yenkos? The 07E cars seem to all be pretty close....
