Default 69 Camaro Glass Questions

If cars came with clear or tinted glass...Was all of it clear or tinted? Any tinted windshields with clear glass elsewhere? Mine has clear glass all around. I just took out the windshield and actually did not break it getting it out, but must have chipped it on the side moving it around and now it has a small crack on the edge. I have to get a new one now. Oh well it had a few marks on it anyway. I can find tinted glass for $88 me installing from a local friend who owns a glass place, but he says he cannot get clear. I see Rick's and others have it for $190 plus truck freight. Don't know what tinted windshield with clear side and back would look like. Anybody got a source for clear glass other than the Resto places. I could go and pick it up at Rick's if I had to. I really prefer clear. Why is clear so much more than tinted? Thanks

Replacement glass from the local guys usually is not the same as reproduction glass... yes you could get tinted front glass and clear rest or tinted all or clear all. But not clear front with tinted sides.

"Why is clear so much more than tinted?"

Because overall, the majority of vehicles were assembled w/tinted glass.
Non tinted was against the norm. It's actually more costly for the manufacturer to produce while tinting the others, plus fewer people are standing in line to buy it compared to the tinted buyers today.
