mr70 is right about de-plating the chrome cover; the plater will chrome strip it, leaving the nickel and copper.
After it's chrome stripped, bead blast it, epoxy prime and then paint for good results. I did this to the rear bumper of my El Camino SS about 20 years ago (when the painted-bumper look was in) and the paint is still in good shape today. Good luck, BCD. |
