I thought I was the only one left who loved that look!!

Now just pull off that front bumper and it's perfect!

Here's a thread on '55 gassers on the HAMB. Several to-die-for cars.

You're definitely not alone Glenn. Here's a couple of shots of an old racer that used to run at our strip in the late 60s/early 70s. Leroy Moss is the owner and actually bought the car new in '55. He proudly displays the original paperwork in the trunk. He converted it to a gasser in the early 70s, then retired the car just a few years later. Last year he was contacted by Bob Gibson to attend a reunion of the old 'Drag City' strip that was located just East of Springfield, IL. Leroy had such a good time reliving memories that he went home and started to work on the '55. He brought it back to Bob's gathering in September of '07 in all her original glory and delighted the crowd. Leroy's wife told us she credited this old car with giving Leroy the spark to live. (He's battling cancer,.............. and winning! )

Cool old car.

And here's what it looked like 'in the day'.

Those front wheels look like VW? Maybe the front axle setup came out of a v-dub? What does the factory Ford model script above the door V say?
