well guys...here goes nothing...I am here with my friend and she is going to help...if they dont post, its her fault not mine...he-he-he (good thing she doesnt read English)lets see if I can get these pics posted...finally

I purchased this collector car magazine here in Brazil and came across this article...I wish I understood Portuguese a little better, but from the jist of this article...Chrysler, Ford and Chevrolet were all involved in this car coming to market here in Brazil...it is a 1969..and it is indeed a GTX...it is indeed a 4-door..and it is indeed a Hemi(although I dont believe it is a 426)...atleast it doesnt look like one to me...and like I said before, according to the article, these hemis were venomized by Zora Duntov himself....unfortunately the article speaks of cubic centimeters...not cubic inches, so I dont know if it is even a 392...can anyone tell by the pics...I believe the GTX emblem is the same emblem on the US versions(correct me if I am wrong)... unfortunately, the car isnt anything like the US versions of the big mopars which really look cool...I think this car is not so great looking(although I like the stripes and emblem treatment, actually I think its pretty ugly)...too many doors!!! he-he-he

anyway, here goes...

BTW Rich, as I menioned earlier, the car is not for sale, but thanks anyway...if I come up with something down here that I am interested in, I will be sure to contact you...I have a good friend here thats big into the Real Supercars..(Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc) and he always has his eye out for me..

although I am a Camaro fan(lets say fanatic), I have yet to see even 1 Camaro down here, although I know theres a few because the same magazine lists a Camaro Club in Sao Paolo)..the Chevys down here are Opalas...they are 4 doors too...mostly Ive seen mavericks and a few mustangs...

one thing that is pretty funny to me...my friend is a member of the V-8 club...theres not enough of any one make to make a club...he is the only one without a V-8 that is a member....they let him join with his 600+ HP Viper V-10!!! (now thats a Mopar down here that I would not mind owning!!)

well here goes...

PS---on another note, does anyone know the logistics of exporting cars ôr parts here...I am thinking of relocating for good, but I would definitely need a toy or two to keep me occupied...

I think the only thing "GTX" on that car is the emblem. It may be some sort of South American version of something, maybe akin to the Australian "Hemis" which are 6 cylinder performance cars but it is in no way anything remotely resembling a 426 hemi B-body Chrysler product.

The engine looks like an old ARDUN cylinder headed engine. Anyone good at old flathead trivia here?

As for being a Hemi GTX, this is kind of like saying I have an M4 parked in my bedroom. An M4 could be this:

or it could be this:

I know which one I'd prefer for "home protection."

I think that's the Ardun Hemi headed Ford V8-60 (from 1935-1939) that Ford sold to Simca (of France) and Chrysler of South America inherited when they bought the South American division of Simca. You're lookin at 169 smokin cubic inches of Hemi there.

Hey John...you are probably right..the article does mention the name Simca more than once...I just wonder how much venom Zora could have put into such a small motor...

Alright Steve, I guess i led you guys on a bit...just some food for thought, but I agree 100%...I actually laughed and thought it was some kind of a made up car or something when I saw the pics...I actually thought it was a Rambler..in my opinion one of the ugliest cars ever made(besides the pacer and matador)...and too many doors also!! But this car is exactly what I said the whole time...an original GTX 4 door hemi!!

I just thought it was interesting and was curious if anyone know anything about these turds...he-he-he

I wont even ask if GM ever made a Supersport Station wagon 4 cylinder...(they have them here too!!..they are opalas...NOT impalas)

Hey Rich...even if the car is owned by a citizen of Brasil it is real expensive ?...and do you know anything about exporting to another nearby country ? Maybe Argentina? or Colombi? I know my friend can get a car in from a nearby country rather easily..Im not sure how, and I dont really want to know...He also says he can get cars or parts into Brasil from US, but if they catch on I will loose my car...I cant risk that!!!!

Rule of thumb for converting cc's to ci's is 61 cubic inches per litre. Or for dummies like me, 100 cubic centimeters equals 1 litre equals 61 cubic inches.
Or, 427 cubic inches equals 7 litres.
Now, get out the ole calculator.
2.77 litre V8 = 3.5" bore x 3" stroke, give or take .25".

Only the RIGHT WAY when dealing with South American Countries. They play by their own drums down there.

You can put anything in containers down here

I found out in life: When you think your going to save money it ends up costing you more in the long run.
