Default 1969 z28 rs crossram

hi to all-- i just found a diamond car-a 1969 rs z28 crossram-with 2859 miles 1 owner --now 2--the car has been outside for 25 years and some of the parts are gone-but it has its born with block trans rear and more -i just came back from a 3 hr sit down with the org. owner and taped our conversation-when he bought the car the crossram was in the trunk but he did not have enough money to pay for the option.so the dealer took off the amount for the crossram and sold him the car with no crossram-my question is does anyone have a old picture of how they were in the trunk-- i am restoring the car to 100%-- and i want to put the crossram in the trunk like factory--and how many were made 69 rs silver black stripe red interior crossram z.the owner found his registration cards a bunch of pictures when it was new and a speeding ticket from 1970 and more--thanks for any help-

Absolute fairy tale.

Chevrolet never offered the cross-ram as an option. If it was in the trunk the dealer put it there.

Did Chevrolet only offer them as an over the counter mod? Did any of the CAN AM cars come with them on already? Like Penske Donahue or the one Smoky worked on? I know that Ricks has the original one off of the Penske Camaro and they have it on display! I know that Smoky took that one off and put his "modified" version on that car.

yea 2859 miles -a- title- 1 owner- i did not know it was a crossram car until i sat with him-- he paid cash-he lives in downtown phildelphia-he showed me where the car sat when it was new-then the photos came out- 3 weeks old it got aluminum slots and went street racing on front street in phila.-- 5 years ago at maple grove speedway swap meet i found a dz 302 still together but rusted and it had the oe. oil filter i started talking to him and we became friends. he told me he still knows where the car is and give him a call-- well 5 years later i get the car-- the trans was inside the car -the rear is still new and was still in the car -jon the org owner gave bill the swap meet guy the title and bill trallered the car up to me -so yesterday i finally got to meet the owner-i said can i tape this no problem he said -so i started out i am here with jon t who bought this 69 camaro silver black stripe red interior flat hood--and he said yes yes--no that had a cowl hood with them 302 emblems-i said are you sure- and then the pictures came out -- well the hood it gone-(they are looking for it this weekend bill and jon may still know where it is )and all i know is there is no hole for the cowl induction wireing so i thought it was a flat hood --than jon said the crossram i could not afford the crossram and they kept it--i just about fell over--there is hours of the story and it is so cool--i just wonder how was a crossram ordered-how it came--see this car never had it installed--jon said it was in the trunk---- and jon is not a real car guy,in phily.there was fast cars street racing but there was no garages and they cared about there cars but not like today-now the car is 90% done every nut and bolt with all the factory overspray-like new- any help on this crossram would be great thanks

As already stated, the crossram was a dealer item. It was never installed at the assembly line on a factory delivered car. If it was in the trunk the dealer put it there.

The hood was an over the counter deal also.
I think these guys are playing with ya.
BTW Why are you even taping the guy. Its not like you found the holy grail Z28. Its just another old street racer that needed to be restored in my opinion. The 2000 miles does not mean anything anymore. Ive been in philly all my life and hung down front st every friday and saturday and never heard anything about this car. Good luck with your sale.
Not for nothing but whats the diff how the crossram was in the trunk?

Lots of 'cable-yanker' cars out there! I'd rather have an all original car with 100k miles on it vs. a 1k mile car that was hacked up to go racing. So, I think that's what Don meant - the mileage is not always very relevant unless the body/driveline is comparable.
