.... where is the video of this monster running!!![/b]

[/ QUOTE ]

Bruce cracked the whip and I got busy. My boys and I had some fun this weekend video taping the Savoy making some noise and smoke. Dad’s fun was driving the Plymouth, my boys’ “fun” was shooting the video and teaching (dense) Dad to edit the digital video tape. We headed out to a relatively remote area of the Sonoran Desert so as not to bother anyone and here’s what we got....

Making dBs and CO in the S/S!

P.S. Special thanks to Mick, Keith, and the boys!

That is a way cool video !! Was hoping for a little more smoke though!!

Two questions if I may Sam.
What program did you use to assemble the stills/video/audio tracks?
and why does the last video clip show the car reversed with you driving on the wrong side? John is the walrus?

Hey Chris,

Thanks. It was fun putting it together. It was my 1st and I look forward to the next one. I used Mac's iMovieHD. Really pretty simple, if you have a personal tutor (aka my youngest son). You are sharp Chris. I was goofing with the last clip. Man, nothing gets past you guys!

Sam,

Fantastic job on the video, I'm jealous on the music and editing, that was fun to watch and I'm sure you boys had a great time making it too. No writers strike in the desert. Now I'm feeling some serious pressure to get my video up and running.

I was smiling through the entire show.

However, I disagree; being behind the wheel of that would be Very Satisfying!

Damn she sounds good!!!!!!!

Glad you all like it. I picked the song for a few reasons

1. I had it in my collection.
2. Although there are other groups that I like better, this song is IMHO one of the best R&R songs of all time. Gets my blood pumping.
3. Get no satisfaction is a little bit like get no respect i.e. with looks like the Savoy you might pass it over as a quick car - the S/S did all its talking at the strip.

Gordy relayed a cool story to me at the diner when I met with him in March. He told me that he hit the tracks about 2 weeks or so after getting the car. He was still learning the car and all of its idiosyncrasies and still hadn't mastered it by the time he raced it at the drag strips. He took alot of ribbing at the track because of how ugly the car was. Well by the end of the evening Gordy hadn't performed the way he wanted and a bunch of 409 guys (Verne this is for you) came up to him with a "beer can trophy" with a crude inscription that said "first place - ugliest car". Gordy took it in good fun and came back to the tracks later after figuring his Plymouth out and began his dominance over those rascally 409s.
