[ QUOTE ]
Tire mfgs warn against spinning the rear tires above 30mph speedometer read out because the tire can blow well before it is worn through the belt pkg and cassing. Anyone standing near the exploding tire could be hit by shrapnel. Not the nanny type but there are dangers involved.

Exactly the reason behind the 20 MPH school zone limit!...

I saw the precautions...again not trying to be a nanny...but who is going to do that on the street? There is more danger in that stunt than people realize.

-------I know a few of us are a bit loosely wrapped on this sight, but I just dont see any of us doing the kind of burn-out pictured in this thread on the street, or anywhere close to it for that matter.........Bill S

You'd be far safer riding a bicycle than being anywhere near that tire if it disintegrates while spinning at speed.

Run over a rock just right, fall off bike, hit your head and you might die. It looked to me like the people were back behind the concrete barriers.
