Quick update:
I got the carb back from resto today. Bolted it down, as well as some other odds and ends. Quick question: The assembly manual isn't real clear on how the pcv hose should be routed. Does this look correct? Does that bracket on the front/right carb stud, holding the hose look right? Just the smog now, which is coming back from resto soon, and the chassis is ready. Started the body work a couple weeks ago. New quarter/rocker, all the seam sealer is removed and the bed/under body/firewall will be blasted. Doors and tailgate stripped & ready for primer. It's all moving along better that I'd anticipated.

ElCamino Update: With the chassis finished, it was time to start the body work. The car is remarkably rust free. Only a couple small patches on the roof, where the vinyl top was originally. The biggest repair is the left side, where it was hit in a slow speed crash (thanks Mark Sheppard for that info). The rocker and lower quarter was pushed in. Got an nos quarter (thanks Greg Cullium/Jim Henke) and a new rocker. It took several evenings, some cut up knuckles, a few takeout dinners, and a bunch of 4 letter words, but the rocker and quarter are out. I also rustproofed all the "innards". Then a buddy of mine helped me out welding the rocker. The quarter is fitted and ready for welding tomorrow. Also got a new used door, which is in perfect condition. I stripped the door and fitted all the parts and everything looks good. The it's off to the blaster. i will have the interior, firewall, bed, and the whole bottom of the body blasted. Thats where I am today. I'm gonna keep posting this stuff, till someone tells me to stop.

Welding the rocker:

Rocker, door, and quarter on:

If I were gonna hide, it wouldn't be in a dusty, smelly body shop. It would be on a beach somewhere.

....and yes I will be needing my rotis.. ...I mean your rotisierrie in a couple weeks.
