289s are a thick wall block, You can bore them 120 over with no worry. Good race piece.

Great blocks used in everything from high output engines to trucks. My LS6 bought in 72 from Berger is a 3999289 4 bolt block with numbers:

"3999289 GM 9 T, C 27 72,TO417CRR"
