How does a mere mortal get a copy of this book?

[/ QUOTE ]

you can purchase the book online at

http://www.amazon.com/Million-Dollar-Mus...0578&sr=8-1

I saw them on display at Border's last night also. And after you get one for yourself, buy a few extra copies for your best friends at Vettefest November 17-18. Christmas is coming!

Rumor is maybe even Charlie and Mr. Barnhardt will also sign it for you at the show....or would that be Charles?

I want to thank you for your wonderful, unsolicited book review. Colin and I worked hard to ensure that it was correct, interesting and wouldn't waste anyones time. Your review, coming from someone deep in the hobby means far more than from a "civilian". Thank you again. David Newhardt

Coincidentally, the 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible that graces the cover was also featured in the American Muscle book when Otis Chandler held the title. I feel honored to know that I was able to meet Mr. Chandler many years ago before he passed and have also had the pleasure of meeting the current owner and viewing this car (and others) in his collection.

So what does Colin say about my old car?...and how gently I treated it.

Slowest damn hemi car I ever had: 14.05 @ 103 mph (The real reason I sold it!)

Yup, that was from the old days when you could rev an original born-with engine to 7000 rpm at a musclecar shootout without your investment portfolio advisor having a coronary.

I picked up a copy at the Mecum auction and we enjoyed it all the way back to Austin. You know you're way too deep in this hobby when you flip each page and know most of the cars presented in the book.

The Yellow Hemi 'cuda shown here is the pinnacle of missed opportunity. It was sold new by Lubotsky Chrysler-Plymouth in Milwaukee. The second owner put it up for sale in 1981 for the unheard of price of $13,000. We all thought he was nuts and it did take some time to sell.

Never look back.

Thanks for all the kind words. After months of being tied to a laptop writing it is nice to hear that people are enjoying reading it! As David mentioned, it was my goal to write a muscle car book that wasn't the same as most others, i.e., stats and specs, performance figures, and the like. I wanted to write a book that told the stories of some very special cars and their owners. It is a car book that even non-car people can enjoy because the stories go far beyond the "nuts and bolts" of what the cars are. I think it really shows the passion people have always had for the cars, and how important they have been to people bitten by the bug long before cars were treated as "investment portfolios"

David's photography is indeed top notch, as always. Nobody knows how to shoot muscle cars better!

Again, thanks for all the kind words. They are much appreciated. Any and all feedback is always welcomed, don't hesitate to bend my ear at a show or email me at [email protected]

Best regards,
Colin Comer

Thanks for the link, I just bought a copy plus five other car books I've wanted for a while. Now that the rains have come to the Pac-NW I'll need some good books to get me through!
