Check out the page in the Camaro book showing the door jamb VIN sticker. Anything odd about that VIN? [/ QUOTE ] It's missing the '0' for 1970 model.. On the subject, great the document has surfaced...even better that it's from a credible source!. And good luck to whoever finds the car...if it still exists!. Also considering the sources as credible, I'd believe the other existing car mentioned as genuine...it just 'sounds' more suspicious when the info isn't shared?. I know we've touched on this slightly here before, but is there an L78 only fan shroud unique for the automatic trans...or any other unique part #'s known produced for the '70 Camaro L78/M40 application?. ~ Pete ![]() |

I understand that I am not playing on a level field anytime I engage Mr Lillard. We, the interested enthusiats are only looking for a veriable Camaro that proves the existance of the L-78/M-40 being mfg.
"Chuck kept saying it was BS, fake etc. I offered to bet Chuck or anyone else 5,000.00 that the car was real but got no takers, just more accusations. RickH ..I believe after the Scuncio sheet was posted even you believe it is real but just like to argue. I'm still looking for someone to bet me 5K........" This current discussion involves TWO different subjects of a similar nature: 1) Once again is the 70 White Camaro in Calif a real, born with T-400, M-40 L-78. I would like to have knowledgable 70 Camaro ACA judges or NCRS or ??? people inspect the car and answer MY punchlist of questions, but that isnt going to happen.......and NO I'm not going to be bullied by a man with more financial means than most of us to put up $5000 of my hard earned income to prove it 2) The other new issue involves Scuncio's dealer invoice for a certain 70 Camaro M-40/L-78 (that has nothing to do with the alledged M-40/L-78 in paragraph At the "end of the day" somebody besides myself.......has to think its very strange that NOBODY has any picture, testimonial, brochure, article, of a FACTORY BORN 70 Camaro L-78/M-40 ever existing............. What with all the misc rare Chevrolet/GM models that exist today, ala ZL-1's, COPO's, 67 Z-28, etc etc etc........NOBODY can show any pictures or has personal knowledge of SEEING one back in the day........NEW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bullied ? You have basically called Jack a liar and were convinced that someone would see the floors had been messed with to convert it from a 4 speed to auto. It is not going to cost you dime if it is a fake like you are so sure it is. In fact you could make 5000.00. My being willing to bet 5K was to make a point at how convinced I am that it is a real car. As for why nobody post pics from back in the day. The Scuncio post told you the cars did not sell well ad sat on lots. Why publish pics of a un-popular car ? Some guy writes a book saying they weren't built and you post a huge pic of the book as if it is gospel ? This is silly. Nobody remembers them from back in the day ? Jack still has his from back in the day but just because a judge hasn't seen it you think it is fake. The president of our Camaro club saw it and the paperwork and says it is real. You and RickH are determined to believe nothing. Do you or RickH really think the guy with the Scuncio paperwork is making this up ? ....Wait while I slam on the brakes before I fall off the edge of the world......

Although I do have a different view then others do me a favor and keep me out of your posting addressed to others. I would appreciate it. Rick H. |

[/ QUOTE ] Chuck wait a minute. Ed posted a copy of an invoice for a L78/M40. He stated that the car was shipped to the dealer on 05/04/70 and did not sell untill 01/28/71. Isn't that a heck of a lot for him to just make up? If he can provide that info where is the doubt that there is at least one documented example? You have to believe now that there was at least one example produced based on this invoice. This new found info holds a lot more water than that paragraph in the Camaro Buyer's Guide. ![]() Just cause I haven't personally shaken hands with George Washington doesn't mean he never existed.. |
