Default Re: Would a 435HP vette be considered a SUPERCAR?

[ QUOTE ]
.........and like many "supercars" of thier day, it has "super" right in the name...SUPER beetle...which is a performance option in itself...(I believe...I know very little about VW's)........

My memory is not what it used to be so feel free to correct if you know other wise... in 71 the SUPERBEETLE was introduced with the macpherson strut front end and the spare tired laid flat instead of upright. in 73 they were equipped with a CURVED windshield. the "super" was all about the handling.

here's the worthless crap I couldn't remember.
- front apron and leading edge of front fenders rounded and turned under
- some front aprons are smooth, others have the louvres
- leading edge of the hood is wider and stubbier than a standard Beetle
- fresh air fan under hood instead of just the 'box'
- knob for fresh air fan in dashboard inset, along with the brake circuit light

now THAT is a SUPERCAR.
