I can't blame Joel Rosen for wanting to cash in on the Motion legend but it's difficult if not impossible to catch lightning in bottle once, let alone twice. Maybe if the cars looked just like the originals, with 15" five-spokes and Mark IV 427s, etc., they'd have something special--and more importantly, nostalgic. These new cars do not in any way evoke nostalgia the way the originals do and these new cars are horrendously overpriced. Any blue-collar guy could buy a B-M conversion car in 1969 but you have to be rich to buy one of these new ones. Nice try but 1969 only happened once.

"1969 only happened once". Quite beautifully said, 427TJ. That about sums it up as well as anything I've ever heard. Those cars that were built back then were for the working man on a working man's budget. These new monstrosities are just terrible-looking trinkets for millionaires with more money than sense. Emblems don't make the car. An ugly woman with expensive jewelry is still an ugly woman. Yeah, those new Hemi Darts also look terrible unfortunately.

I think it's ugly and boring as well. I wouldn't bid if I could.. I couldn't if I wanted too . I do wish I could have picked out something nice and "real" in 68-69 though but I was just a thought back then...

I remember seeing or hearing somewhere that that car was originally purchased for around the $400k mark. Now this car was built for this guy, if this was his dream car and he paid that kind of dough why would he want to sell it. Maybe it's not what he was expecting. Could it be he can (or trying to) double his money. If i had that kind of dough to blow my dream car would'nt be for sale for any price. Sounds fishy. When he and the car were showcased on "American Muscle Car, the Ultimates 'he seemed very happy

No doubt that the motor is beautiful, and some of the metalwork, excluding the body, is very nicely done.

However, they still can't get the headlight doors to line up correctly, and that hood scoop is just f-ing hideous. Who in their right mind would place that tacky add-on on a supposedly modern car? Obviously, someone will state that the hood wouldn't fit over the induction system, but those ITB intakes could have been engineered to fit under a flat hood.

And then there's the rolling shot of those two schmos going for a ride... Once again, it's obvious that a prototype wasn't built, and studied from all angles. The proportions of that car are so bad from that angle that it looks like a home-built, amateur-hour special.

Also, I had to laugh because, in the "two schmos" picture, they appear to be pulling out of a trailer park... Such irony-- Do you think he sold his house to buy the Camaro, and had to move into a trailer park?

I guess that ending price says it all. Only about $400k off....!
