Wondering, anyone on this site ever buy one of his cars, just curious about the fit and finish of the product he produces?

I never liked boyd he gives the classic car industry a bad name If not for speed channel he would just disappear I don’t know how much they pay him but what ever it is its to much all he does is bark like a dog he is ALLWAYS right. after watching the show on tv I would be dammed if I would even think of buying or letting this moron get any of money. I stopped watching the Tv show used to think it was funny but it gets boring much the same mentality of Paul senior of OCC
Didn’t Boyd a few years back screw some investors in so kind of stock scam??? ?

The Hollywood crew that scripts these shows undoubtedly fluffs-up the day to day stuff to make it more of a soap opera. Doesn't mean that shop life isn't without the normal BS but the show's producers have to "sex it up" with arguments and temper tantrums and high drama so that people will watch. You don't really think all those "deadlines" are real? Maybe some are but without the pressure of "deadlines" to get cars done the drama would be lessened.

I have recently been watching the new "Hard Shine" show filmed at SoCal Speed Shop. Same sh*t, different shop. Okay, no Dwayne bellowing at everybody but it's the same soap opera. The only reason these shops open up to the cameras is the huge amount of money. Pete Chapouris probably isn't the publicity hound that Boyd is but I'll bet the money sure is good. So what's up with the "cholo" gang-member dress code at SoCal?

As Boyd's Wheels he went bankrupt in '98 and screwed everyone - A couple of years ago he plead guilty on fraud charges for registering custom one off cars as antique automobiles to avoid tax and emissions liabilities.
Not the guy I would want in my pockets - a real A$$ with an attitude!
