Okay, I heard about this discussion over on Performance Years which is a Pontiac site and thought I would chime in again. Just been a while since I've been here.
Here is the link to a lengthy discussion we had here a while back and in it is the story of my T-37.
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat...true#Post220473

The GT-37 began in 70 1/2 as a styling option on any T-37 2 dr (ht or post)when a V8 was ordered. It was called a Tempest T-37. The basic T-37 was a bench seat, plastic/rubber floor mat/6cyl/3 on the tree. Kind of like the base Chevelle 300.
When the V8 was ordered then the GT option (which was an appearance option) was ordered it included special stripes (actually '69 Judge stripe in '70), dual exhaust w/GTO tips, hood pins, Ralley II wheels w/o trim ring, GT identification and G70X14 raised white letter tires. That was it.
For '70 the top engine was the base GTO 400/350hp engine although there is some debate as to whether the RA III w/o the RA III exhaust manifolds was available. This engine was available on any LeMans/Tempest/T-37 2 dr.

In '71 the T-37 continued as the LeMans T-37 although the cars only said Pontiac and T-37. The GT option remained the same but the stripe changed to a 70/71 Judge type but with only 2 color rather than the Judge 3 color. That changed to a sword type in '71 1/2. However in '71 the top engine changed to the 455HO for 2 dr cars and the 2 dr post was no longer available as a GT even though the brochure shown on one of the sites mentioned in this thread shows a post car. All V8's were available in any 2 dr LeMans Sport/LeMans/T-37 in '71.
A total of 123 LeMans Sports/LeMans/T-37's were built with the 455HO. Dan Jensen of the Pure Stock drags has a registry for '71 and '72 455HO cars that are NOT GTO's.

When broken down by body type (post/ht/conv) only 11 T-37's were post cars. I don't have the registry handy to break down the rest.

Hope this helps and will try to stop by more often.

There were approximately 43,000 T-37's built in '71. Almost 9000 2 dr post, 29000 ht's and remainder 4 dr sedans. No convertible's in the T-37 only LeMans and LeMans Sport. Again do not have exact #'s with me.

The T-37 was never available w/bucket seats/console or endura nose option.

In'72 the GT option continued as in '71 but the endura nose/ram air was required with any 455HO and the nose was optional on others including station wagons. It was called the LeMans GT. Again it was only available on 2 dr ht's. Engine options and availability of them remained the same
