Don,
I can see where you are coming from. I probably should have offered it here first but still did not know where to price it. As far as the stripes go, I wanted to leave them. I removed the stripes and buffed to the hood to make the dings show up in the pictures. WHen the hood was dull with the stripes it made it hard to see the true condition. Jason |

"Nice price" is understating it. Ebay madness. An ENTIRE CAR in the same shape as the hood would only be worth 3 times what the hood sold for! JMO.

Thanks. I have never shipped a hood across the country. I plan on building a crate for it. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to ship it?
Thanks, Jason |

A dealer or body shop should have some boxes that thier hoods came in which will give you a good starting point on packing it. I am not sure if this company has any deliveries in Ohio but Noble Logistics moves auto parts and sheetmetal from dealer to dealer and to salvage yards and body shops across the country. They have locations in CA. http://www.noblelogistics.com/index.html . I deal with Noble on a daily basis in the Southeast and they do a good job for us. If they will ship, you may have to send it through an auto dealership and I am not sure about insurance on your hood.

Verne you are not up on the 68 ss427 impala based on that comment. I will take every 68 ss427 you can find for three times the price of that hood in that condition. These cars have stared to take off over the past 5-7 years and not finished yet. You have to remember there was only 1773 produced and rust issues in the hood was a problem from day one. Jason just sold probally the best used hood I have seen on e-bay and the highest I have seen a used go for was 6700. NOS will bring 12,000 any day of the week and I do know of one that sold for 15K. It is like saying an old 409 impala in that condition is only worth 15,000. Hood and louvers for the 68's are not easy to locate and demand high prices now when they do go for sale. Wish Jason was closer so we could have taken a shot at it. |
