My 70 SS has bright trim only on the front and rear windows, no lower mouldings, so that combination was possible.

That car that King linked/posted has vinyl top trim but no vinyl top, either they didn't replace the top when they restored it or they added the trim, either way as it appears now it is not correct. Look on your trim tag there may be a stamped code for exterior trim A A1 A2 usually indicates exterior decor groups

Sully, you can actually have A 3....the silver car has brite window trim, drip edge chrome and rocker trim....there were 2 types of drip rail trim...one for vinyl and no vinyl....I think the coolest is no trim at all...plain sleeper look, no engine decals, just noise..!!

The trim tag has A-2 on the bottom line. What combination of outside trim would this be?

I think Marlin knows all the 'A" codes, I guess A 3 could be top/gutter, window and body side as well.? C'mon WIlma we need to know.

Typically the A 2 would designate 2 exterior trim items...most common would be brite window trim with b/s moldings or the rocker trim...I'm pretty sure you couldn't get the b/s and the rocker trim together. Also rocker moldings got a black paint accent on the light colored cars..yellow, silver, white, lt blue, etc. You can usually tell which moldings were original to the car..

Gotta a pic of the car?

The 2 indicates two of the possible 4 molding options - however you could only get a combination of 3 of them, never all 4.

I looked at so many cars this past week that I can't remember one from the other, but I did see one at the NNN show that had a number on the tag indicating multiple moldings. The owner claimed no BS option, till I showed him the remnant clues

BTW, my '69 has a '3' on the tag for DR, DF, and BS - but no vinyl top!!
