Wow... thanks guys. Its so nice to know I have a second "family" here. My grandfather or "pap" as I always referred to him, was the greatest man I have ever known. I can't even express the loss I feel today knowing he's gone. I know he's in a better place and is looking down on me... If I can ever be compared to him in any way it would be my greatest accomplishment, as he was my best buddy and the greatest man in the world. Again, thank you everyone.

It's hard to find the strength to pick up and carry on your regular everyday life when you're struck by a loss that is so great words cannot describe what's missing or what you're feeling. Pap was an irreplaceable individual who through his caring, patience, and love for us taught us nearly everything we know and use to survive in the world today. It'll be tough carrying on without him, his advice, and his personality to get me through the good times and bad, but I know as you all have mentioned that he's still very much with me and will be watching at times from an even better vantage point. It's selfish for me to have wanted him to stay any longer, he gave 100% of his being to the family and friends around him, right up until the end. He was a WWII Veteran, a farmer, a steel mill worker for 40+ years, but first and foremost a simple family man. I know of no one tougher and at the same time more sensitive than my Pap. We love you, miss you and will always remember you Pap.
Thank you all for your condolences. |

Joe and Eric, I want to express my deepest, sinceriest condolences for the loss of your grandfather.
I lost my father last year and it was tough but it gets easier, trust me. You'll always have the memories. Bryan Shook |
