We did not have any cameras with us in those years. Mom had a Kodak Brownie but never carried it with us. That was too bad. We have few pictures of my Dad drag racing all through the 60s. On the Dick Harrell site, they show Dick in front of his car at the drag strip. That is here at our track, KCIR. Dick at KCIR

This is a tacky, blatant attempt to show off Dad's car but look at the background at the end of the track. In fact, if you could see the high res version, you will see the same red and white painted poles on the left side of the strip you see in Dick's photograph form around 1969 or so. You Tube KCIR 2006

I'd like to add that I will search my old photos and as soon as I find one that matches the pose posted previously, I will swap it for the youtube video that is less than stellar in its resolution.

Rob, like Typhoon said, I think it hooks very hard. Dad was clicking off 60 foot times the same at Topeka as he was at KCIR several years back. The wagon rips off 1.58 to 1.66, 60 foots on this track. Lighter cars, or ones with large engines, four speeds, and F70-14 tires will not do as well obviously. My 69 340 Cuda, running Goodyear F70-14 bias plys would hooks so hard it would wheel hop. That is why I retired it finally. I suspect a car like yours would do fine as long as you got some momentum before laying the hammer down hard.
