Joe,
I suspect that is a Julian date code - 145th day of 1969. I have numerous BBC timing covers. All are from poduction engines. Some are dated and others are not. I guess it was a "stamp them if you have time kind of thing" ![]()

Thanks guys for the feedback. I looked at probally 30 BBC covers today like yours Steve all production engine stuff and some for sure were solid lifter 69 vintage. Not one date. I was pretty good back then in painting the engine year, displacement and HP on everything and some of these were maked 69 427 425 hp. No dates however but now that I have a target spot I will look again tomorrow.Looks like I dug them out for nothing and they will end up on e-bay.I won't mention any names but hope the guy requesting one reads this since I am not selling them for your offer of 20.00 each just because I cannot find a date. Oh boy.
Thanks again for the help Joe |

Before I started talking to you guys as long as it looked right and fit it was fine. Now I am into these crazy dated things. I don't have a wednesday one Tom but did find a 9 on one today where Rick told me to look nothing but a 9.Still learning is the key.
