I don't understand the conspiracy theory, are you suggesting they're somehow going to swap this rotten buried Belvedere with an identically equipped model that isn't totally devastated? I don't understand what purpose that would serve...plus, it'd be pretty ironic if there was another 57 Belvedere out there somewhere identically equipped that was stored all these years in better conditions above ground without any public knowledge of the car, and now it's just waiting nearby to be switched out now in 2007. Now, that'd be a real story!
I think when they remove the cover you're gonna have a rusty mess...just like most here suspect. It would have done a lot better in my opinion, if they just packed the whole tomb in axle grease before the sealed it up, because that plastic baggie thing didn't seem to do d*ck as far as providing protection from moisture. If I was the winner of that thing I think I'd gladly welcome a switcheroo...heck, while you're at it make mine a Bel Air. ![]() |
