there is a 83 or 84 hurst olds on columbus craigslist but it has salvage title.just search for hurst in cars
i looked at an 84 when they were new,way more expensive than a SS Monte Carlo, and slower.307 had no compression. i believe sticker was 15 or 16k back then, and the Monte was 13k.

As Andy pointed out, there are some modified 83-84 H/O's that are fast, but stock they were not fast at all. Many did come with 3.73 posi so they could act the part off the line...
They were more costy than the Monte's but they were more rare (3001 made in 83), seemed like eveyone had at least one friend with a Monte SS back then. I just want another cool old car to putz with that won't break the bank like another 68-72 A-body 442 would. I was thinking of building a street 403 motor on the side (to make it fast......). But also keep it so the Wife could drive it to work on a nice day. One'll turn up here eventually. |
