After getting a trans flush and being shorted 3 Qts of trans fluid at a valvoline oil chanagefacility , i would have preferred they took my money and didnt do anything just like in the above cases . That way i would have been out 100.00 instead of 1900.00 for a trans overhaul.

James,

You are correct this story was aired on 60 Minutes among other news headlines a few years ago....however this is yet another new story.

I personally worked for this corrupt company...as a District Manager. The upper management was merciful...I could go on for hours. They would do anything to turn a profit...this has to be the fifth or sixth television investigation that I am aware of on Jiffy Lube and or Quick Lubes.

I recognized the District Manager attempting to lie to the reporter....boy was he in hot shoes. I bet he was on the phone with the Regional Manager. I dreaded having to attend the quarterly meetings in Omaha...where you would have to show your entire quarterly P and L statement to the Shareholders, Regional Managers and District Managers. If your numbers happened to be down over prior year you were mercifully scrutonized by the Shareholders in front of your peers....and this meant that your replacement was being flown into your town shortly.

If you or anyone you may happen to know frequents a local Jiffy Lube....I strongly advise you to show them this footage. Perhaps you or they may be there next victim.

Dan.

------Hey Dan,,,Its merciless (destitute of mercy), not merciful (full of mercy), but we all definetly got the point. I too have suffered at the mits of oil change guys as they screwed up a 200R trans for me that wasnt right again for another two rebuilds. still dont know how they managed that........Bill S

I hate to change oil in my daily driver... to me it is not worth getting dirty for the $25 they charge... then having to get rid of the old oil... I will put a timing belt or water pump or other $$$ ticket item... but an oil change.... give me a break... I much rather do something more rewarding than to change oil...

There are also several oil change facilitys here that charge 9.99 to 14.99 for an oil change on special ....go buy 5 QTs of oil and a filter, get dirty, and then find a place to dump the old oil???? i dont even think you can buy the oil and filter for what those places charge.
