Hey, a 79 Z may not be a 69 Z, but, they are a very nice cruising Camaro...Heck GM sold a ton of these cars....and to top it off... the quality parts are very tough to come by. Cut them some slack....

What about the hideous Purple 69 "Roadrunner" with the 440 under the hood?
Looks like a $7,500 car a year or two ago, sold for $30k? Whew! |

If anyone has a real red 435 hp convertible that is documented and has its born with drivetrain and will sell it for the 151K that the red one brought yesterday I will buy it ASAP I did see a 66 390hp car that was a Top Flight winner sell for 117K which is pretty strong money for that car. I think owners of great cars have learned a lesson and will not participate in a no reserve auction JMHO.

[/ QUOTE ] I heard the speech, what I find amazing is that the so called experts kept touting that matching #s meant original, what a joke that is! It is like they never heard of the term restamp or bogus paperwork, trim/vin tag etc. I also heard Mr Jackson state that there is a very high percentage of first time bidders. I hope that they know the difference between the matching # BS vs real because if they don't they will not be buying another musclecar anytime soon when they find out that they just got hosed.

I watched this "episode" of the B-J auction with a little
emotional distance. The auction of the Shelby GT-500H put me in mind that B-J may be in damage control mode. Let's see: All the fanfare of the unveiling of the Shelby GT500H. Is this an auto auction of the SEMA show? Shelby pats Craigy-boy on the back for all his hard work, we get introduced once again to Craig's mom, Sun-glasses dude is now the president, bla-bla-bla. And what's with that ever foreboding arm folded, tight jaw glare from Craig during the auctions. Has B-J seen its crest? ![]() Perhaps I'm just looking at it with more of a critical eye, but I think all the announcers on stage were more guarded of their comments. Anybody else get that sense? ![]() Overall, how did the cars do this season? Was their nearly as much nonsense as Scotsdale? I will say this much. I saw quite a bit of negativity all over the forums after Scotsdale and I'm sure many of you did as well. I only visit a few forums, but if they were any indication of what was being written ( said ) all over the web, B-J basically got clobbered. B-j Scotsdale was the talk of the town for months following the last auction. How much bad press did they get all together? Tons I'll bet! It just seemed to get into a free-for-all mode after a while. Was it just a case of everyone piling on the winner, or more that people were now willing to vent more openly? It sort of put me in mind of what happened to Martha Stewart after the stock fiasco. Angry people came out of the wood work to pounce....... Steve`
