I **think** I remember Bert saying the additional shipping expense from CA to HI for the loose take-out 350 SB motor was too pricey, so having no need for it...it was discarded. The original factory hood wouldn't fit in the trunk either for shipping to HI, so it's a gonner too. I'm experiencing the same riddle now...trying to arrange shipping for the "roller" car, while the engine is still on an engine stand...it nearly doubles the shipping quotes I'm getting.

why not have the pals in HI just drop in the motor and bolt it up? sounds real easy from where I'm sitting !!!

I plan to campaign that very topic later this week with Jeff...after he's done pouting about my remarks that "all he's good for is taking pictures of other people working"

Besides being probably the most significant find in recent memory,what amazes me most is how it sat in the same spot through four decades-the owner HAD to know the value,did nothing with it,and being a relatively known item,noone managed to persuade him to sell it sooner?.To the victor!

I don't know Steve personally, but I know his reputation. I'm willing to bet there were no victors. Steve got what he wanted, and Bert got what he wanted.
