Brian,
Are those Cragars from 'the day'? How about the tires?

That thing is a time capsule!

The CRAGARS are direct bolt pattern "from the day" mags...The tires are old school as well, but the tires are unusable. I am still surprised they held air...BKH

If that is orig paint I think I would use that rust removal stuff that NJsteve is using and just remove all the rust. Then polish the paint and Boeshield the bare metal. What a great survivor.

Steve congrats on the acquisition of this magnificent time capsule. My recommendation is to detail it a bit, install the drivetrain and then enjoy it as is for a period of time. BTW we would love to have this one certified through our Vintage Certification program as well.

What makes this site so enjoyable is the cooperative atmosphere and helpful folks that make up this site. Kudos to Jeff, Brian and a host of other people that helped make this happen.

are you guys [Vintage Camaro] at Carlisle this summer again judging/certifying cars, Steve? I have 3 other cars from here going to the indoor display at Carlisle this summer, so MAYBE Brian and I can figure out a way to get this 68 DANA conversion Camaro there too [before restoration commencement]. I haven't spoken with Brian since his long trip to Hawaii, but I plan to contact him later this week to discuss a strategy best befitting this car.

I ordered a couple of 5 gallon tubs last year and have used it "as per the instructions"... soaking for extended periods of time (30 minutes to 2 days). How can you use this with a pressure washer? My understanding is that there must be either immersion or constant contact with the metal in order for it to work its magic.
