I've been looking through boxes lately, and discovering old photos from the early 70's. I thought you guys might get a kick out of them. This first one was taken in 71 or 72, and was a local drag car. I can't remember too much about it and don't know if it was a COPO car or not. But, it might be familiar to someone else on here. ![]() Enjoy, John [/ QUOTE ] What I find so cool about this picture is the reference on the rear quarter panel to "Ed's Esso Service". I remember growing up that many of the local gas stations had their own "bad ass" car that they'd work on after hours and park put front during the day; brings back memories. |

These photos are in no particular order, and I'm posting them because they need to be seen and enjoyed.
This photo is from 1983 at the racetrack in Kelowna B.C. An Anglia panel running against a Vega. ![]() |

In the mid 70's, myself and some friends rented some shop space in New Westminster B.C. to work on our cars. It worked out well, because we shared large tools and could get help on heavy projects. One of the guys was named Eric, and he had an early knack for building cars that would hook up well at the strip. He was building Pro Street cars before they showed up in the magazines. He built this car for his brother in Northern B.C. It started out as an ex government car, and became this little street terror. As I remember it was a 350/Turbo 350 car with a 9" Ford rearend.

Like I said before, this is going to be a mishmash of photos.
Here is a Challenger that I laid out the graphics on in Quesnel B.C. in the early 80's. It's the only photo I have, as I often never saw the cars finished. I ran a mobile service for car dealers all over the province, striping, polishing, and other services. This was a typical graphic of the time, so don't mock me too badly. ![]() ![]() |

[/ QUOTE ] Photography was my other hobby, but I did write articles for local car magazines, and I was tricked into being newsletter editor for car clubs I belonged to. ![]() |

This photo is from May 1975 at Boundary Bay Raceway just south of Vancouver. This was a disused airport and traction wasn't great. This Z28 looks like it was launching hard.
