sounds like the springs that are on the floats are in wrong... happened to me once as well... fuel spewing out the vents...

For what it's worth, I've noticed that holley needle/seat assys are pretty sensitive to fuel pressure too. Seems like anything over 5 psi would unseat the needle and flood the carb, thats happened to me twice when using pressure regulated electric pumps.
