John, when you post info about a car on a site with 4000 plus members you have to assume that somebody might know something about the car no matter how hidden it may have been. I think everyone's questions about Motion documentation are valid & not meant to be a personal attack towards you or the car. However, since the previous owner apparently couldn't get anything from Joel and you apparently did it's normal to wonder why & how this occurred.
The one piece of info that you have alluded to(on ebay, I think)& that I could not get was that the Vette came from Baldwin Chev. This leads me to suspect that you or someone close to you was able to get the NICB on it. Had I gotten that info the Vette might well be in Ga now. So, the big question really is 'do you hold a position in law enforcement that allows you access to the NICB?' Considering the price I was given & the ebay buy it now price of $225K there's a whole lot boot on the table. If you do not, or are not connected in any way please accept my appology for the inferrance that you may have used a position of authority for personal gain. This information should be made available to everyone through GM so that everybody has equal footing when buying or hunting these cars. JMO |

someone please send me a PM and tell me what I missed. I hope my comments were not as offensive as they may have been in the past, but I'm over that now.

Your comments were NOT at all offensive. At least I did not take them that way. Some people just take things the wrong way.

Before you post a statement on this site, you should really have all the facts on the car. The guy who listed the car in NJ was not the owner, he was the middleman. He did not pay Joel Rosen to document the car. He called Joel on the phone and did not send the money. The reason the car is not in GA right now is because you did what many others do and try to steal the car from the Seller. I drove down, offered the price he wanted and treated him with respect. The Seller even bought me dinner because he appreciated that I didn't play games with him, as others did. Those are the facts. |

It was a factory sidepipe car from the factory. However,it received the Hooker sidepipes as a performance upgrade. Also the car was a stick car.

John,
I knew Bob was the middleman, and I know that several people looked the car over. No one would have played games with the seller if they'd known the selling dealer was Baldwin & only you seem to have this info. I'll admit to hearing different senarios about it being real & not real. The proof is surely in the documentation that you got from Joel and the claim that it was actually delivered to Baldwin Chev. As I mentioned elsewhere, I have yet to see any factual, work order, type documentation from Joel Rosen. Just letters. If you were to get an NICB report confirming Baldwin then the car's history becomes more credulious & far more likely to get a blessing from Joel. John, so either the seller found the original documents relating to the car or an NICB report was run. So, please tell us...what are the facts? |

You were the first allowed to look at the car and you offered him 20K. I was the second guy and paid him his price. Bob told you and I both that Joel Rosen knew the previous owner of the car. I confirmed this with Joel so at that point, its a no brainer. Again, as I stated before, Bob only spoke to Joel on the phone and never sent the $ to get it documented. I did. As for documenting Motion cars there is only one way to do it. You may have your opinions on him. However, I have always had a good experience with him. I have bought several cars in the past that I thought were Baldwin Motion cars, spoke to Joel on the phone on these cars, sent the $ in to get them documented and they turned out not being a Baldwin Motion car and lost my money. Its a chance you take when trying to get them documented. |
