As far as the seller, If he knew enough to get Joel’s docs, then he also knows what that means and I’d think he’d use that info more to his advantage with more specifics. The description is pretty darn short for a car he MUST know is that substantial that he knew to get the docs from Joel in the first place.
But I certainly DO have the utmost hopes that it IS real and it’s survived….!!!!!

one description suggests original paint but no emblems?
any detective work done to find filled holes?
I loved the work Larry did to authenticate his ride.
It would be great to find another REAL SS427 GT

Chris
To answer your question. The car had repair work done on the right rear and the emblems must have been removed. However you are able to see the fill holes from the back of the panel and yes the SS427 emblem fits perfect.

John, when you post info about a car on a site with 4000 plus members you have to assume that somebody might know something about the car no matter how hidden it may have been. I think everyone's questions about Motion documentation are valid & not meant to be a personal attack towards you or the car. However, since the previous owner apparently couldn't get anything from Joel and you apparently did it's normal to wonder why & how this occurred.
The one piece of info that you have alluded to(on ebay, I think)& that I could not get was that the Vette came from Baldwin Chev. This leads me to suspect that you or someone close to you was able to get the NICB on it. Had I gotten that info the Vette might well be in Ga now.
So, the big question really is 'do you hold a position in law enforcement that allows you access to the NICB?' Considering the price I was given & the ebay buy it now price of $225K there's a whole lot boot on the table. If you do not, or are not connected in any way please accept my appology for the inferrance that you may have used a position of authority for personal gain.
This information should be made available to everyone through GM so that everybody has equal footing when buying or hunting these cars. JMO
