When I was 6 years old it was the coolest movie and car out there. Amazing how the times change. Now I look at it as FUGLY also.

Supposedly there are only 2 cars used in the movie, and the one at mid america is the backup car. The other resides in Australia, but it doesn't look like it did in the movie.
![]() The mid america one was converted to right hand drive by moving the steering wheel and gauge cluster to the passenger side, and fitting a chain and gear drive under the dash, that was connected to another gear installed on a shaft that was attached to the steering gear. Looks like a real death trap. Certainly not something you would do any spirited driving in. ![]() |
