-----If we are talking about "ones that got away, I got one for you.
-----1969 I was going thru the Boston paper classifieds and a 1964 Cobra popped up. Called the guy and left for the hour and a half trip to see it. Got there and the car had a very bad red paint job. Along with that every electrical wire in the car was the same color,,,red. Well,,,that put me offf and I left without buying it for,,,,,,,,The princely sum of,,,,,,Are you ready,,,$1200.00. Oh...body was pretty nice under the spray-bomb paint..........Bill S |

It was the winter of '76 and I had a sweet little 1959 model green-eyed blonde on my hands...
..Seriously though and aside from my own cars I wish I still had, I always think back to when I worked at the boneyard in the late 70's/early 80's when all the best stuff was rolling through.. Aside from the daily routine of stripping parts and fixing cars, every six months or so the press would come in and you'd have to make decisions on what could stay and what got flattened. ..I shoved fork-loads of Camaros, Chevelles, Novas', Road-Runners...you name it into the squeezer and with the ones I really knew I'd regret someday, I'd back away from the press and often watch as they'd crumple with their glass breaking and chrome popping off...all somehow beautifully glistening in the sunlight. ..Included in the ones I just can't forget was a '69 Judge Coupe...blue w/ a slight front corner hit, a sweet little white '63 Nova SS ragtop (one year only)...lots more. ..~ Pete ![]() |
