In 1970,you could get a NON Super Sport Malibu or Elco with an LS-3 402/330Hp engine.It could show the letter "L" on the trim tag.
For 1969,the Super Sport Chevelle & Elcamino came with Big Blocks only,so it is difficult to say for sure if that "L" denoted a Super Sport or a Big Block.
I believe 427 CID COPO Chevelles have been found with the "L" too.
