Rick, Just got my valve covers back from Ramos and I have to say that I am thoroughly not happy! I did not think that the covers were going to be such a headache. They are pitted all over, the small dents that I asked to be fixed are not. They look like they came off of a survivor car instead of being freshly rechromed.I have not had a chance to speak with the Ramos employee's but plan to call them tomorrow. They did only charge me half price and wrote a note saying that to fix them correctly they would have to grind then down which would warp them and that the pitting was caused by the covers being plated before. These are factory original covers so I know that they have been plated only once.I just wish that they would have called me to let me know the problem, now I have a pair of valve covers that I can't use.Anyone have a good set or should I just go to Crane's? Here are some pictures of them.

Hey! Get your own add!

Sorry to hear that you had trouble. They do look terrible and a lot like mine. I think they can repair the pits without grinding them and they certainly should have called you before they shipped them. If I find a third set I will let you know.

I need two sets of good used 1970 only, Chevelle valve covers. Can be painted or chromed as I will rechrome. Must be in good shape with no damage or severe pitting. If unsure what you have, shoot me a photo and I will verify. Please respond via PM. Thank you.

Thanks Bruce. If Donnie would learn how to post pictures on line here you wouldn't have to do that........ Whoops, kettle calling the kettle black.............

Your engine compartment looks awesome Donnie! Crane covers are the best available. I would rather not go that route if I dont have to as they are still somewhat easy to spot just looking at the small lip around the base which is a little more pronounced then originals. Also the oil filler cap does not seat correctly with the ears pointing straight up and down (I thought I had heard they corrected that). They are very nice covers without a doubt but I would rather have originals if possible. If I don't find them soon I will have to go for the Crane covers.
