We do phosphate plating at my shop along with any other resto plating. Examples are on my website.

I really appreciate the information.
I wonder if I removed the paint on this original part that the phosphate would be under it?
Surely having this professionally done would be thing to do.
BUT, what about the phosphate that the Eastwood Company sells in a spray can? I wonder if this would like nice?

If this is for your survivor car in your sig line, my choice would be to strip the paint if possible and see what it looks like, you may be able to preserve it. I feel any paint, touch up, etc..doesnt make it a true survior car any more.

Yea, the previous owner painted over that part with some black paint. Probably thought it looked nicer as he maintained it over the years. I have some paint remover that I bought from the Eastwood Company. I may try it on this part to see what happens. Thanks again for the tip!
