Was anybody else offended by the conduct of the bidder assistants?

What I find obnoxious is that they get right in the bidders faces and put a hand on their leg or arm around them. Totally innapropriate contact. I saw the skinny "screamer" guy grab the inner thigh of one bidder in his chair. My wife saw that on TV and looked at me and said: "Did he just do what I think he did?" Yup. If he did that to me I'd make one hell of scene.

How about the older male assistant that kept grabbing the 6 year old son of a major bidder and kept hugging him and holding up for the crowd. Very creepy! It looked like a NAMBLA recruiting photo.

i think the abominable snowman might be bidding up the fords seriously though, rare mustangs (other than shelbys) haven't brought the money that chevrolets with similar production #'s have brought in the past. i honestly think these mustangs are finally getting there due justice.

The question of the quality of the cars that were going across the block is a valid one. People will always pay a premium for quality that is REAL. Maybe we are seeing an educated buyer......

It's funny but when you factor in the buyers and sellers commission that BJ gets along with any other add ons that may occur and add them all together, are the total prices paid that far off from what we see as the current market value on some of these rides?

There definitely seemed to be some over hyping on the Ford cars. The Chevy's were obviously down(other than the pair of crossram Z28's for $240K!), the Mopars were down and the Fords were bringing crazy numbers. That's why I try not to let the BJ auction act as an indicator for values, because they force the no reserve if you want it on the block, they pick which cars to spend more time on, and it's an auction where people can bid on their own car(most auctions seem to allow this as well)! But sitting here at home we have no idea as to the quality of the cars and restorations and if they are truly #'s matching with legit documents. Sounds like a lot bs is going on with the GM stuff and that scares people from bidding. And we all know BJ doesn't stand behind the cars so if you got suckered, it's your own fault! But it makes for entertainment I guess.

Well All I can say Is Crag Jackson end up the BIG loser last night and if not for the guy that paid 5 million dollars for a cobra that had issues the night would have been a bust
I will also not disuse what problem that
were with the 5 million dollar car. I know It is here say
After last Night tv showing I was talking to some one that was there and all I can say is the sh** hit the fan I will not replete what was told to me because there are people on this site will say it is here say and is it a fact but There must have been others there that saw the same thing a lot of behind the seen arguments All I can say there was a lot of problems and I would bet next year the reserve car bidding will be back. That is if Crag Jackson still wants to make a profit
And last every one I talked to wanted to know who the old guy with the kids all over him was It looked like he did not know what the heck he was doing or cared on what he was bidding on
As fair as I am concern the whole thing was one big mess and smelled
A lot of people lost big money

Steve, you want to hear obnoxious? Did you happen to catch one of the auctioneers say to a bidder "someone just donated 1 million dollars to charity and you cannot afford to buy a $210,000 car?" The bidder was in a war with a hot rod convertible. I was floored. Inappropriate at best considering his condescending tone.

Maybe the "subliminal advertising "
with all the Ford banners
..."in the roof" ...had an affect on the bidder's
...
...
..What was the quality of the cars over at Russo Steele Auction....I think that had something to do with some of those prices....
...great cars with documentation and the right color will always be in demand
...I think they could vary their commercials thru the event
...that was torture

Looks to me like the Ford conspiracy went down the tubes when Ford's USA pres. threw in '07 Shelby VIN #2 at MSRP and the bid did not go up one penny! Or maybe the $600k was a "staged" price.

It would be interesting to know what "really" goes on behind the scenes a BJ. Craig comes across as a first class shyster and his side-kick and those sunglasses??? WTF Mr. Hollywood, has it dawned on you that you are the only person in the whole FN place wearing sunglasses INDOORS??!!!

These guys are making the whole game look a little shady.
